How much does Zapier cost for my Zaps?
Zapier charges for tasks: one task for each successful action step, so a Zap uses its runs times its action steps.
Tasks a month = runs a month × action steps
Triggers, Filter and Paths steps, and Formatter, Delay, Looping and Digest steps are free. The plan that fits is the smallest Professional or Team tier at or above your total.
Example: a Zap that turns each online order into a sales receipt and a Slack message has 3 action steps. At 900 orders a month it uses 900 × 3 = 2,700 tasks.
From December 1, 2026, each completed run of a Next Gen Zap uses at least one task.
Is Make cheaper than Zapier?
Make often counts more units for the same work, because it bills a credit for the trigger as well as for each module that acts.
Make credits a month = runs a month × (1 + action steps)
Most module actions use 1 credit. Router and error handler modules use none. The Free plan includes 1,000 credits a month.
Example: the same order workflow uses 900 × (1 + 3) = 3,600 Make credits, against 2,700 Zapier tasks. A credit and a task are priced differently, so look up your number on Make’s plans page and type the price into the calculator.
A Make scenario on a schedule uses a credit for each check, so count checks as runs.
Is n8n cheaper than Zapier?
n8n counts one execution for each run of a workflow, however many steps it has.
n8n executions a month = runs a month
Example: the order workflow uses 900 executions, against 2,700 Zapier tasks. A workflow with many steps costs the same on n8n as one with two.
n8n’s plans page lists its cloud plans in euros. A workflow on a schedule counts one execution per scheduled run, so a daily schedule is 30 or 31 a month.
How do I export my Zap history from Zapier?
Choose Drop a Zap history export in the calculator, then:
- Open Zap history and select the runs, or click Select all (5000 at a time).
- Click Download, choose CSV and confirm.
- Open the email “Your Zapier account data is ready to download” and click Download your account data.
An export holds up to 5,000 runs. The calculator counts the days from the first run to the last and scales them to a month.
How do I cut the tasks my Zaps use?
Start with the workflow at the top of the list:
- Put the Filter first. Steps after a filter that stops a run use no tasks.
- Use Formatter for text and dates. Formatter steps are free on Zapier.
- Let searches stop. A search set to stop when nothing is found uses no task.
Before you rebuild a busy Zap, map the process it supports so the new version does only the steps you need.
Questions
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser does the math on your computer, and a dropped file never leaves the page.
What happens when I hit my Zapier task limit?
With pay-per-task on, Zaps keep running at your pay-per-task rate until you reach 3 times your limit, then pause until the next usage period. With it off, or on the Free plan, Zaps pause at the limit.
Why is my Zapier billing page higher than this total?
AI by Zapier steps can use more than one task, depending on the model, and so can Code steps with a longer runtime. Zapier bills from the figure on your billing page.
Why does the calculator ask me for the Make price?
Make prices each credit tier on its plans page, and the calculator shows the credits you need. Type the price for that tier to see it next to Zapier and n8n.
