When does CoConstruct stop taking new projects?
From CoConstruct’s migration page, checked November 7, 2026:
- Months 1 to 3: finish active jobs in CoConstruct and train on Buildertrend.
- Month 4 on: new projects go in Buildertrend. “Once you fully commit,” CoConstruct takes no new ones.
- March 31, 2027: the last date for adding projects.
- After that: “No project data will be lost,” and past projects stay viewable, with no end date given.
What should you save from each project?
| What | Where in CoConstruct | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| All project data for one job | Settings > Account > Other Settings > Download Project Data | A ZIP file, by email |
| Estimate, with selection cost lines | Export at the bottom of the Estimate page | An .xlsx file |
| Budget | Export at the top of the Budget page | An .xlsx file |
| Sent proposals | Financials > Proposals, then the printer icon | A PDF |
The multi-project download comes “excluding files & photos,” so download each job on its own.
How do you download a project from CoConstruct?
CoConstruct sends the link to “the email address you use in CoConstruct,” so sign in with a login whose inbox you can open.
- Make a folder for each job on your shared drive.
- Request the download. Go to Settings > Account, open the Other Settings tab and select Download Project Data. Choose a single project.
- Save the ZIP. Open the email, select the link and save the ZIP into that job’s folder.
- Export the estimate. On the project’s Estimate page, scroll to the bottom and select Export. It includes selection cost lines and Other Cost Lines.
- Export the budget. On the Budget page, select Export at the top.
- Save sent proposals as PDFs. In the project, select Proposals under Financials, open the sent proposal, select the printer icon in the upper right and choose Save as PDF. (Core, Standard and Plus plans.)
- Log it. One row per project: each file, who checked it, and the date.
Do closed jobs first, then warranty jobs, then active jobs after their final change orders and selections.
Send clients what they’ll want before you archive a job: archiving turns off client access and stops notices to subs. A job in the Warranty phase stays open to clients and subs.
What happens to your QuickBooks Online connection?
- Push each estimate once. A second export overwrites the QuickBooks copy and “will reset any progress invoicing percentages for the existing estimate.”
- Pick one system per document. CoConstruct creates QuickBooks invoices from approved change orders and bills from work-verified purchase orders. Once your new system connects, decide which one creates each job’s invoices and bills.
- Disconnect CoConstruct after its last job closes. In QuickBooks Online, go to Integrations > Manage integrations and find CoConstruct. Open the Action dropdown and select Disconnect (or look on the app’s Settings), complete the short questionnaire and select Confirm Disconnect. You need a QuickBooks Online admin login; if someone else connected CoConstruct, make yourself the app’s admin first.
For jobs open at the switch, the over/under billing calculator shows where each stands from its exported estimate and QuickBooks billing. If job costs don’t tie out, see what QuickBooks Online job costing reports miss.
How do you check that each download worked?
Open every ZIP before you tick the job off:
- Photos: compare with the Files & Photos page, using the Attached Elsewhere filter on the Photos tab to include photos from other pages.
- Files: find the plans and signed contracts.
- Estimate: the .xlsx total matches the screen.
- Selections: spot-check three choices against Specs & Selections. For any disputed item, screenshot its View Change Log, which shows when a choice was made and by whom.
- A second person: opens three random ZIPs on a different computer.
If a ZIP has no files or photos, request it again with the single-project option.
Where should your jobs go next?
| Option | What you get | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Move to Buildertrend | An account manager and training; past jobs stay viewable in CoConstruct | Ask which records move across |
| Switch to another platform, such as JobTread | A product chosen for how you work | What its import takes from your ZIPs; reconnecting QuickBooks |
| Finish current jobs in CoConstruct | Every job saved where you control it | No new projects after March 31, 2027 |
| Bring in an outside team (Cleanups & bulk changes) | Every project downloaded, checked and mapped into the new system | Time with whoever knows the jobs |
Before choosing, map how a job moves from estimate to final invoice to see which features you can’t give up.
FAQ
Is CoConstruct shutting down on March 31, 2027? That’s the last date for adding projects. Past projects stay viewable afterward, with no end date given.
Will my CoConstruct jobs move to Buildertrend automatically? Ask your Buildertrend account manager which records move. Past projects stay viewable in CoConstruct.
Can I download all my projects at once? Yes, without files and photos. Download each job separately to keep those.
What’s the main QuickBooks Online risk during the switch? A second estimate push overwrites it and resets progress invoicing percentages. Let only one system create each job’s invoices and bills.
