Work-order & BOM tracking software

Software that tracks every work order and bill of materials against real consumption — shaped to your operation, owned by you, with no per-seat tax and no vendor lock-in.

01TL;DR
02The problem

Why paper travellers and spreadsheet BOMs cost you

Paper travellers and spreadsheet BOMs feel cheap until you try to answer a simple question: what did this job actually cost, and where is it right now? With manual tracking, material consumption is estimated, WIP is a guess, scrap goes unrecorded, and a BOM change does not propagate to the jobs already running it. Generic ERP work-order modules help, but they impose a structure your multi-level, option-heavy products do not fit, so people keep working around them.

Custom work-order and BOM tracking software is built around your actual products — multi-level BOMs, options and substitutions, your routings — and your actual floor, where data is captured by scan or terminal as work happens. Real consumption posts against each order, WIP is visible, and a BOM revision is controlled. Because you own the source, the model fits your products instead of forcing your products into a template, with no per-seat tax.

03What we build

What a custom tracking system covers

  • Bills of materials — multi-level BOMs with options, substitutions, and revision control, so changes are governed instead of ad hoc.
  • Work orders — release, routing, operation status, and a clear view of where every job stands on the floor.
  • Material consumption — real backflush or scan-based issue against each order, with shortage flags before a job stalls.
  • Labour and scrap — time and scrap captured at the operation, so true cost is built up as the job runs.
  • Cost and reporting — actual versus standard cost per order, WIP value, and material variance, without an export step.
04Build vs. operate

When to build, and when to run an operator

The tracking record itself should be software you own — it is your cost and traceability truth. But the coordination around it is often repetitive: chasing a supplier on a missing component, confirming a customer change against an open order, following up on an over-consumption that needs sign-off. A managed operator can run that alongside the system. The strongest engagement pairs the two: a custom tracker you own, and an operator for the chasing around it.

05Integrations

It reconciles with your ERP and floor

Tracking that does not reconcile with finance is just another silo. We map the integration in the blueprint: orders, items, and BOMs sync with your ERP, consumption and cost post back so finance is not re-keying, and capture happens by barcode, terminal, or machine signal on the floor. Open protocols such as OPC UA and MQTT are used where machine data is available, so consumption reflects reality rather than a standard assumption.

06How we deliver

Blueprinted, built, handed over

We start by mapping how your work orders and BOMs really behave — your product structure, your routings, your capture reality — not a generic module. That blueprint becomes the spec. We build against it in milestone-gated stages you can see, and we hand over the source, the schema, and the deploy pipeline so your team or any developer can extend it. For Saudi and GCC plants the system is hosted in-region with Arabic-first interfaces.

Questions
  • Why build custom instead of using our ERP work-order module?

Generic work-order modules impose a structure your multi-level, option-heavy products do not fit, so people work around them. Custom tracking software is built to your real BOMs and routings, captures true consumption and cost, and is owned outright — no per-seat tax, no lock-in.

  • Can it handle multi-level BOMs and revisions?

Yes. Multi-level BOMs with options, substitutions, and controlled revisions are core to the build, so a change is governed and propagates correctly to open and future orders.

  • Does it reconcile with our ERP?

Yes. Orders, items, and BOMs sync with your ERP, and consumption, labour, and cost post back so finance reconciles without re-keying. Floor capture is by scan, terminal, or machine signal.

  • Do we own the software?

Yes — you receive the source code, the schema, and the deploy pipeline. Your team or any developer can extend it. There is no vendor lock-in.

  • Can an operator handle the chasing around work orders?

Yes. The same engagement can pair the custom tracker with a managed operator that chases late components, confirms customer changes, and follows up on sign-offs.
